WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COACH AND A THERAPIST?

WHAT IS RECREATION THERAPY?

Recreation therapy is a research based, person centered approach to wellbeing. It is a systemic process which purposefully uses activity based interventions focusing on your strengths and abilities improve your quality of life. 

CAN YOU SEE BOTH A THERAPIST AND A COACH?

Absolutely you can see both a Therapist and a Coach. It is your healing journey, so you get to decide who you want to see. We will never encourage you to stop seeing a Therapist or seeking medical help. We encourage you expanding your Circle of Care. If you are on a waitlist for a therapist or cannot afford therapy at this time, working with a Coach is another option to explore. WHERE WILL OUR SESSIONS BE HELD?

Our sessions will take place virtually through Zoom.

ARE YOU COVERED UNDER INSURANCE?

Unfortunately, Trauma Recovery Coaching and Recreation Therapy is not covered by insurance. We hope one day that it will be.

WHAT ARE YOUR CREDENTIALS?

April is a certified Trauma Recovery Coach from the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaches. She also hold a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services with Major in Community Recreation from Brock University. As well as a diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services from Algonquin College.

 

Katie has a degree in Recreation and Leisure Services with Major in Therapeutic Recreation from Brock University.
